Title: Love Unchained
Fandom: The Professionals
Pairing: Bodie/Doyle
Genre: Prison!AU
Warnings: Crack & deliberate purple pros(e) *g*
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 501
Disclaimer: Not mine, just playing.

Summary: If Doyle wasn’t a broken man yet, he wasn’t far off.

Author notes: Written as part of the [livejournal.com profile] broadstairsbacc writing exercise where we all wrote a fic to a randomly picked fandom and prompt (mine was ‘prison fic’) but with a twist of making it as purple as possible :D Enjoy the resulting literary masterpiece!

Title: Fake It
Fandom: Life on Mars
Pairing: Chris/Ray one-sided
Rating: PG
Word count: 100
Disclaimer: Not mine, just playing.

Summary: “Hell no,” Ray crossed his arms. “I ain’t playing a nancy-boy.”

Author notes: Written as part of the [livejournal.com profile] broadstairsbacc writing challenge where we all wrote a drabble to same fandom, a randomly picked prompt (undercover as gay) and then individual Loveheart phrase which needed to be included. My Loveheart said ‘I love you’.

***

Title: Arrangement
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Pairing: McKay/Zelenka
Genre: AU
Rating: PG
Word count: 100
Disclaimer: Not mine, just playing.

Summary: Radek had arrived two weeks ago.

Author notes: Written as part of the [livejournal.com profile] broadstairsbacc writing challenge where we all wrote a drabble to same fandom, a randomly picked prompt (arranged marriage) and then individual Loveheart phrase which needed to be included. My Loveheart said ‘I’m shy’.

***

Title: Liquid Courage
Fandom: Sherlock
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 1,117
Disclaimer: Not mine, just playing.

Summary: “There you are,” Sherlock said, lifting his gaze to John at the same time as he pulled the belt out of its loops, dropping it to the floor unceremoniously. “Is this clear enough?”

Author notes: Written as part of the [livejournal.com profile] broadstairsbacc writing challenge where we all wrote a fic to a randomly picked fandom, prompt (mine was ‘drunken sex’ – I failed at the sex part!) and a Loveheart phrase which needed to be included. My Loveheart said ‘Ever yours’. I have embellished the original version a little bit I must admit, in the process of tidying it for posting!

Dearest con writers.

The very talented [livejournal.com profile] kat_lair has created a Loveheart Challenge Banner for, well, taking part in the Loveheart Challenge *g*  It's grabbable below:-

LoveHeart Challenge Banner (2)
[identity profile] moth2fic.livejournal.com
So we had a picnic on the beach, watched by seagulls - mother(?) and son(?). The baby, who was nearly as big as the parent, had clearly been sent to beg alone and was distraught - very noisy and quite pathetic. We ate, drank, and did a Harry Potter quiz, provided by [livejournal.com profile] pushkin666. It was a close thing but the winner was [livejournal.com profile] kat_lair with 32 correct answers out of 40. The prize was that the other competitors should each write a drabble of the winner's choice. This turned out to be Harry Potter - any character, genre, etc. So here's my offering (already emailed to the lucky winner). It's exactly 100 words though we realise that all kinds of very short ficlets count as drabbles. It's also sort of f/m but really gen and suitable for all ages. Under a cut for size and for surprise value. Click on the image for the full size.

Greetings all!

Even with only 4 members confirmed, Broadstairs Bacchanalia is forging ahead (like a sparkly steam engine), with plenty of room for more participants should you find yourself available 11-13 of September to come and join us.

However, progamme and activities must still be planned (structure is important if flexible).

Timings: Suggestion is that the 'official programme' runs from ~2pm on Fri 11th to 1pm on Sun 13th, with joint meals/hangouts/etc before and after as well if people are around and feeling up to it

Food: As last year, the plan is to have picnic type ‘everyone contributes something’ type of lunches on most days. Friday’s dinner would be provided by yours truly and pushkin666. Saturday’s official con dinner would take place in a local restaurant. With the above in mind, please let us know if this broadly speaking sounds like a good plan, and if you have any specific dietary restrictions/allergies we should take into consideration.

Talks/Activities: Considering the potentially small attendance we're planning to keep this relatively informal and relaxed, but it would still be good to have some clearly defined activities and items for discussion. We have some ideas but we also need your input. Please comment with your ideas. Would you be willing to give a short talk (prompt discussion about) a fannish topic? Do you want to pimp a small fandom? Run a writing workshop?

Some suggestions:

  • Vid show

  • Fandom Scrabble (extra points for fandom related words!)

  • Writing exercises, a few different ones, e.g. fandom/trope bingo

  • New fandom pimp - Person of Interest and Community by [livejournal.com profile] kat_lair

  • Returns and reboots: the good, the bad, and the ugly by [livejournal.com profile] pushkin666

  • Switching with dark fic, do unto others as you would not have done unto you by [livejournal.com profile] kat_lair

Roll Call!

Right! We are a bit late (ish) with this but RL has been hectic. However, now is the time to put your hand up if you are reasonably certain that you can make Broadstairs Bacchanalia this year. Based on the poll, the weekend we're going with is 11-13 of September. Location: Sunny Broadstairs as before.

We had plans to rent a biggish house for the occasion (moth2fic, will need the details off you) if there are enough participants to merit that, and thus take care of accommodation (for most) and con central in one swell swoop. However, if only a small handful can make it, that's not really worth it and instead people can make their own accommodation arrangements and we can have con fun at mine again.

Thusly, another poll.

[Poll #2013280]

Again, please pimp far and wide to any friends who might want to join us!

So, this is a reminder regarding the Bacchanalia.   [livejournal.com profile] kat_lair and I are in the process of planning the second Broadstairs Bacchanalia, which as you may or may not know takes place in the small seaside town of Broadstairs in Kent, UK.

We are currently hosting a poll to see which weekend in September people prefer for this year's mini-con.  We have had some voting already take place, and will close this shortly.  So, it's up to you people who would like to come along and join us for a great weekend of geektastic and fandom fun.

First of all, let us know if you'd like to come.  It was really good fun last year with vids, fandom pimping, talks, ice cream, walking along the beach, cider and other wonderful things.

Please feel free to come along and vote, and even look at joining us in September - it's really is a great weekend.

POLL  - Broadstairs Bacchanalia returns ... but when?

Dearest Broadstairs Bacchi!

The mini-con is returning, as promised! But before we can start thinking about practical arrangements (moth2fic, I think you had the whole house in mind...?) we need to settle on a date. Currently, we are still thinking September though a bit earlier than last year. So, please tick which of the below weekends you could do, and tick both if you don't mind. You can suggest other dates but the September ones were chosen to accommodate our timetables and we suspect everyone has other plans for August (plus Broadstairs will be heaving so accommodation prices would likely be higher etc).

[Poll #2000656]

And remember, please pimp the comm and the poll to your flisters in case other people would be interested!
